Thanks very much! I've heard of people seeing certain words as colors (like names or numbers), so it seemed like a not unreasonable way for empathy to manifest - especially in a pre-literate child. The brain has to something with all those signals! (Again I find myself giving way too much thought to the workings of a fictional universe!!)
