LOL! So glad you wound up enjoying the colors in the end - when I first had the idea I thought 'huh, that might work' but when I actually sat down to write it I thought 'oh hell - how am I going to do this?' So it took me a bit of pondering and staring off into space like a lunatic to figure out how to make it work. But then I started to get into it, and of course had a blast assigning all sorts of flamboyant colors to Duo, since it seemed to fit with his manic personality. (Kumquat, in my head at least, is a sort of light orange - based on the fruit of the same name.)
