I'm not saying everyone should go out and buy "Broadway Melody of 1933" or anything, but they'd pretty much gotten through the talkie transition by 1940. And I think the more people understand where movies have been, the more they'll understand where they are now and where they are going in the future. It makes me sad when people dismiss movies just because they're old, though I know it will always happen. Still it gets annoying when I ask someone if they've seen Movie X from 194X and they say 'No, that's way before my time' because, hell, it's way before my time too, and I've still seen it. Just because it was made before one was born does not mean it's lame and irrelevant. (Not that every movie ever made was brilliant, by any means!)

And it maybe just be because I've done a lot of b&w photography, but to me the world in black and white is a beautiful, beautiful place, and I always think more people should appreciate it.

Anyway, I'll shut up now. Thanks for weighing in on the topic!
