Well, now that my thesis is winding down, I finally have time to poke my nose back into fandom. And since LJ is currently flipping out, and I've known for eons that some very talented writers have relocated over here, it's finally time to establish some sort of presence. Will try to get the cross-posting thing to work, so I don't have to maintain two active journals. But we'll see. My tech savvy seems to be dwindling with age. (Am about to be forty - one foot in the grave, here!)

Am trying to import old entries. Fingers crossed that success WILL BE MINE!!!! Muahahaaaaaa! In the meantime, time to make some new icons!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

I am also glad to hear you're getting some space and time for fun things. I am trying to get some new fics finished this month, but it's been slow going. I was about to point you toward gw500, but I see you already found it. <3

The cross-posting thing works pretty easily from the posting page here on DW, so there's no need for an external client. I wish you bug free explorations!

Thanks so much for the welcome!! I appreciate the insider info - am still getting used to navigating and figuring out the differences between here and LJ. Now I just have to get used to checking on friends at both sites. Not sure I can handle the responsibility!! ;) Though it is amazing that online socializing can be just as draining as face-to-face socializing. It seems like it should be so easy... :D

I know what you mean! I can't, for example, totally avoid my social anxiety online. Bleh! But it's good to see you in my circle here, and I hope you find it comfy on Dreamwidth. It's a bit more quiet than LJ, which I actually kinda like, and the active comms are super friendly. There seems to be a very cooperative, largely wank-free culture here thus far.

Here are some other comms that may help you feel settled:

lj_refugees - not quite as active as it has been during the big exodus, but still has folks discussing differences and how to get things done.
the_dw_herald - news digest for DW related postings & stuff
dw_nifty - fun, helpful tips for using DW
