Well, not actually flayed. That would be icky. :P But, yes, I do admit to liking to see my boys get a bit roughed up, and then, due to their sheer kick-assery, they win triumphantly in the end. Or, in Yugo's case, win quietly and sneakily in the end. Besides, you thrashed quite a few of our lovelies in Wilderness, so you can't say that you never stray outside of Bunnyville. ;)
And I do like my share of tooth-rottingly sweet stories (such as the Shigure/Kyo ones I was talking about). I need variety I guess. Comes from being a gemini - there're always two of us to please!
One of the reasons I like gw500 so much is that the writers there really seem to embrace the characters at any age - and they portray them well at any age. It is so refreshing. There do seem to be a number of us over-25ers in the community. Actually, I was threatening to make a t-shirt for us 30-something fangirls recently.
One of my random pet age peeves is Goku from Saiyuki who is listed as being "around 18", has a mental age of somewhere around 14, but there was that whole thing about being chained inside a mountain for 500 years. How does that not make him 518????? I mean, at a certain point superage is cool and instead of old and creepy, right - it works for vampires, so why not Goku? Why does everyone insist he is young? Innocent, perhaps, but not young.
Oooh, and now that I start looking at ages in character profiles, Tsuzuki is listed as 26 - except for the fact that he's been dead for nearly a century (if memory serves) and spent a number of years of his life in some sort of age-defying coma. What up?? (So much fic-fodder there that no one seems to take advantage of!) Oh well. Still, at least he still gets to be "26" and a main character. Pretty unusual. Guess you get special dispensation when you're dead and trapped in a supernatural non-aging body. :)
