Humans Suck!

Just spent the weekend reading really depressing accounts of the Spanish Armada shipwrecks in Ireland. The worst part of it is that of those poor slobs that managed to survive the wreck, most were either robbed and killed by the local inhabitants, or shot down or executed by the English government. FUCKERS. These men were starving and helpless. Just send them the fuck back to Spain like civilized people. God fuck all. Of course the Inquisition was in full swing back in Spain, so they weren't exactly all happy innocent folks. Not to mention the slaughter of all those Aztecs & Incas and such over in the Americas. But still, it's such a gross example of kicking a man when he's down that it just makes me ill.

And of course I know that there are atrocities as bad or worse than that committed every day, but it doesn't make it any easier to read about men being washed up on shore then rounded up and shot. Fucking humans.

Well, THAT was a cheerful entry. Guess I'll go home now and read about Greek pottery. That will be much less soul-killing.
