Profound or Crass?
Mar. 16th, 2005 09:37 pmWell, I was just out with several fellow grad students and we ended up griping (as usual) about this one guy's roommate, who, despite her being a total selfish cow, managed to snag onto a "boyfriend" very early on in the year and, despite their completely dysfunctional relationship, is still having sex with him on a regular basis. Roommate Guy was bemoaning the fact that *she* was getting laid while he, a perfectly nice guy, had had no action in quite a while. He theorized that girls had it easier than guys, and asked the other guy in the group to back him up. At which point Other Guy said "It's not the getting laid, it's wanting what you get laid with." I thought this was hilarious, and told him that it sounded like it should be really profound but was actually just really crass. But really it could be the other way around.
On another note, randomly overheard half of someone's cell phone conversation:
"...he was like 'nah, I just opened up more options,' and I was like 'all right, well he still likes girls at least'..." This caused me to do a very impolite double take - but really, who expects to hear someone discussing their friend's sexuality with another friend in the middle of the parking lot of the local vegetable market? What a strange world we live in!
