Huh. Can't believe I haven't posted in a year! Have really missed posting but haven't felt up to it. And now it looks like most of the Kool Kids have migrated to Dreamwidth. But that's what I get for dropping the ball. C'est la vie. So what has la vie been like lately? Perhaps a quick list will cover it.

• Thesis? Yup, still not done. But soooooooooo close I can taste it.


• Guilt factor: 11.


• Fall/Winter Fandom of Choice: Fullmetal Alchemist. So much to do to poor work with in the dashing Colonel Mustang.


• Spring/Summer Fandom of Choice: NCIS. o_O!! My first live-action fandom in like 10 FUCKING YEARS! Really not sure what that says about my psyche. All I know is Agent Gibbs really floats my boat. (But what's with all the Stargate crossovers????)


• Re hankering after a man 20 years my senior: WTF? (At least he is younger than my dad...)


• Re feeling amazingly old myself: WTF????

Yay for being close enough to taste the end of your thesis. You've put a lot into it since the last time you posted.

I've seen A-Team twice and really enjoyed it. The action sequences are well done and the casting was spot on. Breaking Murdoch out of the hospital has to be one of my favorite scenes of all time.

My movie night group is currently working through NCIS as filler and I'm liking it more than I thought I would.

Have you seen Warehouse 13?

Thanks!!! *hugs back* So good to hear from you!!!!!! Hehe, I do love Murdoch dangling from the helicopter rotor blade singing "You spin me right round..." Oh, and him lighting Face on fire and admiring him for being dangerous. Still makes me laugh! The casting really was spot on.

Yay for NCIS! I got sucked in during one of those 12-hour marathons on USA when I was dog-sitting a while back and it is slowly turning into a moderate obsession. Am hoping it will calm down soon, so I don't keep boring my friends with 'that reminds me of a scene from NCIS..." *headdesk*

I have not seen Warehouse 13 yet. Do you recommend?? (I will need to start something new once I have caught up on Bones, which should be pretty soon....)

That is another classic moment and it is something he would have done in the original series. Another thing I really liked was them explaining where BA's fear of flying came from. I always assumed it had to do with Murdoch, but it was nice to have it actually spelled out. The action was great, but the dynamics of the group is what really made it.

*grins* I saw part of one of those marathons. The first episode I remember seeing was the one with Abby at the sexual harassment seminar. That just set the stage for me. She, Ducky and Palmer are my favorites though for the most part I like them all to some extent.

I very much recommend Warehouse 13. It's a SyFY original and well done. The chemistry in the pilot is a bit eh until the end and it really clicks during the series. They're currently on season 2 so it is not a huge amount of canon to get current with.

Very pleased to see you posting again. Good luck with the rest of your thesis and well done with all the work you've put in on it since the last time you posted.

FMA is one of my favourites and NCIS is on my list of shows I want to watch. Working through Bones slowly. There are really not enough hours in the day.

FMA was pretty darned good, I agree. And for once a series ended in a way that didn't piss me off! :) I was very satisfied with the ending (the manga/brotherhood ending, not the original anime ending...). If you have any recommendations for another good series, let me know. I feel at lose ends without a series to follow. (Of course I check back in on Bleach every few months, but it's mostly just idle curiosity at this point, not serious commitment.) NCIS is definitely worth it - not that I'm biased or anything! ;)

Definitely not enough hours in the day for all the junky tv out there waiting to be devoured! But I have faith that we will prevail! ;)

Anyway, I miss you and some other people in CS. A couple. Like 3. And one of those may be a dog. But I am hoping to finish up this semester (hahahaha) so I can do PhD thingies. *hides*

Exciting TV for you? Maybe White Collar, Vampire Diaries is good cheez, and there is an anime of Supernatural coming out. Although, I'm surprised it took that long. When you describe the plot (two brothers who have a cool car and hunt demons, and are also the chosen vessels of Lucifer and Michael for the upcoming Apocalypse) it sounds like an anime.

No way, dude!! I was totally sure you had written me off completely!! Great to hear from you! (I'm with you on the dog, though.) Good luck on the finishing up. It is so frustrating to be so close and know that somehow there is still so much left to do. Like stupid references and figures and crap. I am sure yours will kick ass! :) Do you have a PhD project ready and waiting?

Might have to check out White Collar - I have nothing against roguishly charming art thieves as long as they don't get too smug. Don't think I am ready for vamps yet - hard to take them seriously after Buffy. :D Anime Supernatural?? And considering your description, it definitely sounds like it should have happened well before now! I might have to check it out. Is the real series still going?? It hasn't exploded in a giant angst bomb yet? ;)

LOL I might be a moral degenerate, but I refuse to admit to others that I am! hehee. Don't worry, I have no intention to move over full time, but it is a really nice and convenient backup for my LJ. And I can cross-post really easy from there too. When I finish the fic I'm working on, I just might cross post it here. DreamWidth has so many bits and bobs that my free LJ doesn't have. More icons, lots of little features that I don't get, more layouts...

The cross-posting feature seems very handy. I might end up going that route. And sometimes pretty features are totally worth it. (I myself am sick of being stuck with a measly 5 icons). It's not like you're selling your soul for an iPhone, at least! (But, of course, if you have an iPhone, I will do my best not to hold it against you...) :P
